My Story

I’m a UX/UI designer from Richmond, Virginia

…but first, let’s talk about how I got here.

My passion for making great design and honing an efficient creative process developed while studying Spanish and Printmaking at University of Virginia. I learned how to turn possibilities into tangible results by rigorously iterating on my ideas. Through countless late nights re-etching and re-printing plates till I was satisfied, I grew to love the process of creation as much as its products. As sculptor and writer Elizabeth King said, “process saves us from the poverty of our intentions.” In design, I always trust in an effective process to help me discover the best version of my work.

Since meeting my wife while studying abroad with UVA in 2015, Valencia, Spain has become a second home where I’ve spent many summers and holidays with friends and family and making valuable memories. I’ve become truly bilingual, learned a third language, and broadened my worldview immensely, leading to valuable opportunities like working as the lead Spanish-English translator for the Valencia History Museum. Effective communication is key to great UX design, and nothing has prepared me more for that task than building meaningful relationships across languages, cultures, and lifestyles.

Since moving to Richmond in 2016, I’ve kept feeding my passion for creating and adventuring. I’ve written and performed music throughout the East Coast with my band, Fullscreen, assisting with audio production, branding, and visual design as well. Meanwhile, I’ve worked as a full-time Spanish teacher for 6th-12th grade for over five years, teaching both in-classroom and with my county’s online program. The skills I’ve practiced firsthand - designing engaging learning experiences, empathizing with people of different backgrounds, listening thoughtfully to feedback, and communicating quickly and effectively - have informed the way I approach design today.

Now, my design skills and passion for building lasting human connections help me build delightful, empathy-first experiences. If you’d like my help in making your project a success, don’t hesitate to reach out.
